The Willy Staeslei was created at the beginning of the 20th century as a refuge for the urban bourgeoisie who craved a green environment.

This eclectic little castle by architect Floris Verbraeken was commissioned in 1900 by Antoon Van den Weyngaert, founder of banking and insurance firm Antverpia.

A staircase takes you to the front door and entrance hall with authentic floor. To the left is the guest toilet, to the right the living space with open kitchen. Many original elements here: beautiful plank floor, high ceilings and a fireplace in Belgian marble. At the back, a glass door gives access to a terrace overlooking the large garden.
An absolute eye-catcher is the wooden spiral staircase in the tower, with lighting that extends from the basement to the ridge.
On the 1st floor is the master bedroom and very spacious en-suite bathroom with accents in electric blue. Second floor, another 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. The bedroom on the south side has a beautiful arched window with lovely views of the wooded Willy Staeslei.
The basement used to serve as the maids' quarters. Now there are an office with stove, a laundry room/boiler room and built-in wine corner.
At the back of the large garden, a tiny house with sleeping area, kitchen and bathroom was recently built. Additional extension is possible.
